DescriptionThe IR2156 incorporates a high voltage half-bridgegate driver with a programmable oscillator and statediagram to form a complete ballast control IC. TheIR2156 features include programmable preheat andrun frequencies, programmable preheat time, program-mable dead-time, and programmable over-current pro-tection. Comprehensive protection features such asprotection from failure of a lamp to strike,filament fail-ures, as well as an automatic restart function, havebeen included in the design. The IR2156 is available inboth 14 lead PDIP and 14 lead SOIC packages.
